Necessity is the mother of invention. No one knows this better than Jessamine Daly-Griffen, owner of Om Nohm Bakery & Café. When two of her three children were diagnosed with Celiac disease, Jess faced the challenge by developing over 150 gluten free recipes to nourish her entire family. Soon, the idea for a dedicated gluten free bakery was born, offering a welcoming space for food-marginalized individuals. Three years after opening her doors, Jess’ dream of creating an inclusive community has come true, but sales are barely covering the bakery’s operating costs.
To help Jess reimagine her business model, Deluxe recruits Arwyn Birch and Teresa Fox, savvy and innovative co-owners of Glam Doll Donuts in Minneapolis. The team from Deluxe goes to work on building a cohesive brand to extend Om Nohm’s reach far into the local community, while renovation icon Ty Pennington knocks down some walls to help Om Nohm increase production.
