After more than 12,000 nominations from towns across the country, six towns were chosen to compete in a weeklong public vote. And after some of the fiercest competition we’ve seen yet, Searcy, Arkansas came out on top and was named the winner of Season 4!
The transformation has been captured in an original eight-episode series telling the stories of the incredible business owners and community members of this small southern town. Take a look below to learn more about Searcy, and stay tuned on October 8 to watch their story unfold.
About the Town
Located a 45-minute drive from Little Rock, Searcy is the largest city and county seat of White County, Arkansas. Home to more than 24,000 residents, Searcy prides itself on being a town “where thousands live as millions wish they could.” With an economy that continues to grow, a public education system ranked at the top of the state, and an array of medical staff, facilities and services at its disposal, Searcy boasts a high quality of life. Despite its positive attributes, the town is still having trouble finding a cohesive brand and story to help tell the rest of the world what makes it so special.
Once home to many businesses in the oil and gas industry, Searcy now has fewer jobs and less profitability. However, with a large and active small business community, they’re hoping to make a change and start attracting locals and tourists alike to start shopping small. With a rebrand of the community already underway, the residents of Searcy are hoping the Small Business Revolution can help bring the community closer together, beautify the downtown area and attract people outside of Searcy into town.
